Keep your Facebook profile private with our easy tips

It’s easy to assume that our Facebook profiles are only visible to our friends, but the truth is, anyone can see our profile if we’re not careful about privacy settings.

Here are some easy tips to keep your Facebook profile private.

Control who can see your profile and what they can see

The first step to keeping your profile private is to control who can see it. You can do this by adjusting your privacy settings. To adjust your privacy settings, click on the down arrow in the top right corner of Facebook and select “Settings”.

From there, click on the “Privacy” tab on the left side of the page. Here, you’ll be able to adjust who can see your posts, your profile information, and more.

Choose what you share

Be careful about what you share on Facebook. Remember, even if you have your privacy settings set to “Friends Only”, anything you post could potentially be seen by anyone if it’s shared by one of your friends.

To control what you share, only post information that you’re comfortable with everyone seeing. Also, be sure to check the privacy settings of anything you’re tagged in before it appears on your profile.

Keep your contact information private

Another way to keep your profile private is to make sure that your contact information is only visible to your friends. To do this, go to your “About” section and click on the “Edit” button next to each piece of information.

From there, you can choose who can see each piece of information. You can set your email address and phone number to “Friends Only”.

how to hide friends on facebook

Assuming you want to keep your friends list private and not just certain friends:

-Click on the down arrow in the top right corner of Facebook and select “Settings”.

-On the left side of the page, click on the “Privacy” tab.

-Under the “How much do you want to share?” section, click on the “Edit” button next to “Who can see your friends list?”.

-From there, you can choose who can see your friends list. You can set it to “Friends Only”, “Only Me”, or a custom setting.

-Click on the “Save Changes” button.

Your friends list should now be hidden from anyone who doesn’t have permission to see it.

Be aware of scams and hoaxes that target Facebook users

Scammers and hoaxers often target Facebook users by creating fake profiles or posting false information. Be careful about friending people you don’t know, and be wary of any posts that seem fishy. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

If you’re not sure whether a post is real or not, you can always do a quick Google search to see if there’s any information about it. By following these tips, you can keep your Facebook profile private and make sure that only the people you want to see it can see it.
