Change Your Birthday on Facebook

You might want to keep your age private for privacy reasons, or you may want to change it because you entered the wrong birth year when you first signed up for Facebook.

If you’re concerned about people knowing how old you are, consider changing the visibility of your birthday rather than deleting it from your profile altogether. That way, only people who you’ve approved as friends will be able to see it.

how to change age on facebook.

Learn how to change your birthday on Facebook. You can adjust who can see your birthday on your profile by changing the audience for each item, like posts or photos. To change your birthday:

1. Click the down arrow in the top right of any Facebook page and select “Settings”.

2. In the left column, click “Privacy”.

3. Click the “Edit” next to “Birthday” in the “Basic Info” section.

4. Select your audience for each item, then click “Save Changes”.

Note: If you’re under 18 and enter a birth year that indicates you’re over 18, your account will be treated as if you’re 18 until your next birthday arrives. This may include being able to see content that has a higher privacy setting than before. For example, you may start seeing posts from friends of friends. If this happens, and you’re not old enough to see the content, please let us know.

What to do if you encounter errors while trying to change your birthday:

If you encounter errors while trying to change your birthday, please make sure that:

-You’re using the correct date format for your birth year. For example, use “1965” instead of “65.”

-Your birth year is in the past. You must be at least 13 years old to create a Facebook account.

-Your birth year doesn’t indicate that you’re under 13 years old.

-You haven’t already changed your birthday within the last 14 days. You can only change your birthday once every 14 days.

If you’re still having trouble, please report the issue to us by clicking the “Help” link at the bottom of any Facebook page.

The consequences of changing your birthday on Facebook

If you change your birthday on Facebook, it will not automatically update your age. This means that if you’ve already entered an age that’s different from your real age, people may still see the wrong information.

Additionally, if you’re under 18 and enter a birth year that indicates you’re over 18, your account will be treated as if you’re 18 until your next birthday arrives. This may include being able to see content that has a higher privacy setting than before. For example, you may start seeing posts from friends of friends. If this happens, and you’re not old enough to see the content, please let us know.
